briefly insight into the story of my origin and my ancestors:

I am an Transylvanian Saxon               7buerger-Herz

I was born in Transylvania. This is located in central Romania and in my own language it is called

                                                       "Siebenbürgen"

It is the place where my ancestors lived for nearly 800 years as a apart german ethnic group.

I lived there until 1984 (the age of 23 years) and I consider it as a absolutely enrichment of my live, this opportunity

to collect impressions  and to gain experience in living very close to other nationalities. The knowledge of Roumanian

language is also a enrichment and I feel it as a enormous advantage in practicing other languages.

Transylvanian saxons have build in Transylvania a strong and well operating economy, good infrastructure,

german school system and nevertheless they succeeded to share exemplary the living space with several nationalities

and cultures in the region (Romanians, Hungarians, Cinty & Roma …)  The romanian government has recongnized

their german ethnicity and has respected their privileges for a few hundred years.  But suddenly with beginning of

communistic dictatorship they have been expropriated by this regime.

But loosing the whol proprietary was not the worst what our ethnic group had to suffre. The realy worst began as step by

step the government of this dictatorship was doing efforts to impede the german educationIt became more and more

impossible to practice religion and german traditions and  this was the very worst that hurts the Transylvanian saxons.

So they felt as being  forced to look for alternatives and a way that made possible to survive as a german ethnic group

                                                                  with its own identity.

Unfortunately the communistic dictatorship caused the nearly complete emigration of transylvanian saxons from Roumania.

I am happy that my family (wife and two sons) and my self, as well as moast of  transylvanian saxons found a new home

in Germany. As many other Transylvanien Saxons I decided to dedicate a part of my spare time and a part of my life,

for the maintaining of tradition and culture that we inherited from our ancestors.

I feel as we owe it to our grand parents.
